Ingredients: Almond

A tree nut with a rich taste that can range from sweet, slightly bitter, or completely bitter.

West and Central Asia; Spread to Western Mediterranean.

The Spanish brought almonds to California in the 16th century, though cultivation wasn’t successful for another 100 years. California is now the largest grower of almonds.

The first recorded mention of almonds is in the Bible (Aaron’s rod is made from almond wood [Numbers  17:8]).
