A small blue or purple fruit. Depending on the ripeness of the berry, they may be sweet or somewhat acidic and sour.
Eastern United States and Canada
Blueberries solely grew wild until 1912, when they were first successfully cultivated. Now they are grown in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, and Uruguay.
Blueberries have one of the highest antioxidant values of any fruit and are rich in vitamin K1, vitamin C, and manganese.
