Ingredients: Butter

A dairy product made from churning cream. If salted, butter can possess a slightly salty flavor. If unsalted, it can taste slightly sweet.

Most likely central Asia, made by nomadic people who domesticated cattle for milk. Butter then spread to Europe and India. 

By the 12th century, butter was used throughout northern Europe, becoming not only a staple of Europeans’ diets but also their economy.

The first noted reference of butter came from the Greek historian Herodotus.
