A caffeinated, brewed beverage prepared from roasted coffee beans, the seeds of berries from coffee plants. The beverage’s flavor is acidic, sweet, and bitter. It may have fruity, floral, or earthy notes, depending on the bean variety and preparation.

Coffee was taken to Central and South America and the Caribbean during the 18th century.

Coffee is one of the world’s most significant crops. The Arabica bean makes up 90% of the world’s coffee.
