Ingredients: Cucumber

A usually green, creeping-vine-grown fruit often treated as a vegetable in food preparation. The common American cucumber is slightly bitter yet refreshing in taste.

Thought to have originated in the Himalayas. Cucumbers were cultivated in India for at least 3,000 years and in China during the 6th century CE.

In 1494, Christopher Columbus introduced the cucumber to Haiti, after which it spread throughout North America.

Cucumbers are mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh, which goes back to 2100 BCE.
