Ingredients: Nutmeg

The inner kernel of the seed of the Myristica frangans tree, nutmeg has a slightly spicy, warm aroma and flavor. Nutmeg is usually ground to a powder. 

Native to the Banda Islands, part of Indonesia’s Moluccas Islands.

Traders from the Middle East brought nutmeg to Constantinople in the 6th century. 

Myristica fragrans produces two products; nutmeg and mace.
