Ingredients: Peanut

A legume, but often referred to as a nut. The exterior shell is bumpy and rough; the edible nut inside is smooth and creamy when eaten. 

South America, grown since at least 3000–2000 BCE.

The Spanish introduced peanuts to Spain after encountering them in South America. Peanuts then spread to Asia and Africa. 

Peanuts contain protein and other essential nutrients.
